Ethiopia has been using properly the financial and development assistance it receives, according to African Development Bank (AfDB).
The remark was made during the meeting AfDB Board Member Tuunanen Heikki held with President Mulatu Teshome.
During the occasion, Mulatu said Ethiopia has been registering rapid growth by utilizing its internal resources and increasing foreign development cooperation.
In this regard, Ethiopia will continue using the development assistance it receives from partners for the intended purpose, he added.
The president urged development partners to allocate additional assistance to support the country.
AfDB Board Member and delegation head Heikki stated on his part that Ethiopia has been registering rapid and continuous economic growth during the past 15 years.
The effort it has been exerting to reduce poverty and improve the livelihood of its people is also commendable, he added.
Ethiopia has in particular been using the assistance it receives from the bank for the intended purpose, according to Heikki.
Through the visits it had in the country, the delegation has been able to prove that development projects undertaken by the bank are successful, Heikki noted.
AfDB will continue providing financial assistance to Ethiopia to make its development activities become more successful, the delegation head indicated.
State Minister of Finance and Economic Cooperation Ahmed Shide said the financial support AfDB has been extending to Ethiopia is benefitting the people.
AfDB is currently supporting 13 projects that focus on human resource development, infrastructure, and job creation with over 1 billion USD, it was learned.
