United Nations Under-Secretary-General for Field Support appreciated the extensive contributions the Ethiopian peacekeeping forces have been making.
While conferring with Prime Minister Hailemariam Dessalegn, Under-Secretary-General Atul Khare lauded the Ethiopian forces and the people for the great role they have been playing in bringing peace and stability.
Ethiopia is the fourth largest peacekeeping force deploying nation in the world, Khare observed, adding that they have been engaged in Somalia and South Sudan.
Prime Minister Hailemariam noted on his part that Ethiopia has a long history in peace keeping and would work hard to maintain peace in the future.
Ethiopia is standing alongside the world community to maintain peace, the premier reiterated, further pointing out that the insistence of the government of Burundi for the peacekeeping force that may be deployed in the country to be Ethiopian shows its competence and dependability.
